Doyle YC 2 Northend United 2     Saturday 17th December 2017

This was a very tight game though most of the play was in the midfield area and Jamie Magill, Kyle Wakefield and Zach Erwin never let the Doyle attack past them.   Midway through the first half Northend would break the deadlock which started by brilliant all round play from Zack Erwin as he first intercepted a Doyle attack and then played a great ball into the path of Jay McKeown who cut inside and hit a great shot from the edge of the box and although the Doyle keeper got a hand to it he could not keep it out.   The half finished with Northend giving away a penalty and it finished all square. Half time 1-1

The second half would be very similar to the first and again it would be Northend who would take the lead.   This came from a corner and a very powerful header from McKeown.   A period followed when Northend should really have finished the game off with good chances falling to both Billy Bell and Shea Redmond, but again the half would finish with Doyle delivering a killer blow and getting a draw from the game. Full time 2-2

Men of the Match:   Billy Bell and Zach Erwin.   Both finding form and displaying their best games of the season.

Panel:  G McClean, Z Erwin, K Wakefield, J Magill, S Bristow, S O'Broin, B O'Neill, B Bell, S Redmond, J McKeown

Northend United 1 Camlough Rovers 2   Saturday 10th December 2016

The first half of this game was a quiet affair.  Northend were match rusty after not having played for a month.   There were a couple of half chances from Shea O'Broin and Ben O'Neill.  Another great move that started with Callum McAvoy and involved both O'Broin and O'Neill nearly resulted in Jay McKeown breaking the deadlock, but instead it would be Camlough who would take the lead just before half time. Half time 0-1

The second half would start off with Camlough scoring again due to a dodgy decision and another error.   Northend would try for the remainder of the match to get something from the game   There was another chance for O'Neill and Billy Bell but both were dealt with by Camlough.  With a minute to go McKeown scored a great effort that went in off the crossbar just as time ran out for Northend. Full time 1-2

Man of the Match:   Ben O'Neill - covered a lot of ground and ran his socks off to get Northend back into the game.

Panel:   G McClean, J Magill, B Adams, Z Erwin, C McAvoy, K Wakefield, S Bristow, B O'Neill, S O'Broin, B Bell, J McKeown

Northend United 1 Banbridge Town 2     Saturday 5th november 2016

This quarter final started off very tight with neither team really in command, but as the game grew it was Northend who took control and would be in control for the remainder of the half.  Numerous chances came and went but they couldn't find a way past the Banbridge Keeper. Half time 0-0

The second half started as the first half finished with Ben O'Neill hitting the crossbar and Shea O'Broin hitting the side netting, but then Banbridge broke against the run of play and scored.    A period followed when Northend won numerous corners and free kicks then they finally got their goal back when O'Neill was fouled in the Penalty area, but with the ref playing the advantage let play go on and O'Neill managed to get the ball to Jay McKeown who chipped the keeper to make the game all square.   The game looked as if there was only one winner but it was Banbridge who would hit Northend on the break again.   The game finished with Northend sacrificing a defender and putting him up front and they threw everything at Banbridge, but time ran out leaving the Northend Coach's bewildered on how they lost this game.  Full time 1-2

Man of the Match: Jamie Magill - a great solid game in defence and has developed very well over the last year.

Panel: G McClean, J Magill, B Adams, Z Erwin, K Wakefield, S Bristow, B O'Neill, S O'Broin, B Bell, J McKeown, S Redmond
